Why Choose Soy?

100% Natural & Vegan:

Soy wax is 100% natural and derived from Soy beans. Whereas traditional paraffin wax is made from petroleum, coal or oil shale. The soy wax we use is 100% Vegan and not tested on Animals.

Cleaner Burning:

Soy wax has zero toxins, carcinogens or pollutants, and is therefore less likely to trigger allergies. It is a much healthier wax for us as it doesn't emit any nasties into our atmosphere. Parrafin waxes, on the other hand, that can contain carcinogenic substances which are harmful to our bodies. Natural soy wax is a much safer way of enoying a candle.

Sustainable & kind to the planet:

As soy wax is both renewable & sustainable, as it is plant based and is derived from the fast growing soy bean plant.  It is a much kinder alternative to the environment than animal & fossil based products like parrafin.

Biodegradable & water soluble:

Soy wax is naturally biodegradable, which makes accidental spills easier to clean up and the disposal of these products safe for the environment.

Longer Lasting:

Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax, which means that soy wax burns cooler and will last longer than paraffin candles. This means that you can enjoy our amaing range of scents for much longer.

Stronger Smelling:

A candle's fragrance is emitted into the air from the wax pool that surrounds the wick. Because the melting point of soy wax is lower than paraffin, there is usually a larger pool around the wick.  This results in a much stronger aroma.

How to look after your candle

The first burn:
Soy wax has a memory, therefore the first burn of your candle is an important one.  The amount of time this first burn takes will depend on the size of you candle, the the conditions of the room you are burnign it in.  Do not extinguish the flame until the wax has melted to the edge of the glass.  If you fail to do this, the next time you light your candle, it will only burn to the dimension of that intitial melt.

After the first burn
After your initial burn, it is recommend that you burn your scented candle for at least one hour, but no longer than 3 hours.  This ensures that your candle will melt to the edge of the glass, and minimises the chance of flooding the wick.

Uneven burning
If your scented candle starts burning unevenly, it is most likely caused by a draught.  Turn the candle to even up the burn, and then move it to a different location.  Draughts speed up burn time too, so it is best to avoid them.

Re-centre the wick
After each burn, before the wax is set, re-centre the wick.  This will help ensure an even burn.

Trimming
Trim the wick of your scented soy candle to 5 mm, once the candle has cooled down.  Remove any debris, as this can cause smoke.

Storing
Store your candles out of direct sunlight, as some fragrant oils can discolour.

Burn times
Burn times that are provided for your scented candles are approximate, and will depend on burning conditions.
